Welcome to Lexifeet.com which is a personal account of our daughter, Alexia’s (Lexi’s) journey from her in utero diagnosis of bilateral talipes at our 22 week scan, to her successful (so far...) non surgical Ponseti treatment.
Alexia - first time on a swing April 2007

During Lexi’s treatment, my husband Jon and I (Vanessa) became increasingly distressed at hearing other parents’ stories of their talipes treatment.  Many had begun what they had thought to be bone fide Ponseti treatment, only to find their children were still in casts up to 6
months later (Dr Ponseti prescribes a series of plaster casts changed weekly for an average of 5 weeks), thus requiring referrals and starting the treatment all over again with a properly trained Ponseti practitioner.  I wanted to do something to prevent this incredible waste of time, effort, resources, and emotional distress to both the parents and their talipes babies and children.  If only one person reads this, and as a result, undertakes talipes treatment from a Ponseti registered practitioner, we feel we will have accomplished what we set out to achieve.

This is not a medical reference site (nor are we medical people) but it does promote Ponseti treatment for talipes through our personal experience, and that of others we have met along our way.
The following summarises Lexi’s progress.  She is currently in her bar and boots overnight for 12 - 14 hours..
